I love old doors, they reek of history. What stories they could tell, if only they could speak.
It's been ages since I last posted anything on here. Battling cancer hasn't helped. I have Mantel Cell Lymphoma a rare form of Non Hodgkin lymphoma. I've gone through eighteen months of chemo culminating in a stem cell transplant. I have to admit it's been hell, but with Gods help I have come through the other side.
My hair is coming through curly and white, which I rather like now I've got used to it.
I don't know what the months ahead hold for me, but suffice to say, I intend to live each day to the full as much as possible. Enjoy the company of my family and friends, and continue to write my books.
God is good and my faith in Him has kept me strong.
By the Grace of God, inwards and upwards. :)

I found this awesome review of my book on LItPick a children's review site. It was ages ago and I'd forgotten the book was on there. I'm thrilled. I love reviews by children, they are so honest. sschu5 Age at time of review - 11 Reviewer's Location - Charlotte, NC, United States View sschu5's profile When Mary wakes up not knowing anything about anyone, traveling on a train to a car with a woman she does not know, heading to the Greyache house with people who she has never met, she is quite uncomfortable and uneasy. When she gets to the house, she is greeted by a horrid man (butler) and a kind young woman named Mary (maid) and she is confused and very tired. She was under the impression that she was sent there to be a maid and had to do some chores before resting. Instead, she goes to an old shack that is a little ways into the woods near the house. When she gets there, she sees a big tarp covering a rocking horse! When somebody says something she jumps; first thinking it is the horse. What an absurd idea she tells herself: rocking horses don’t talk. She leaves as it starts to get dark. But, when things get messy inside the house, she and Mary run to the shed. When she gets to the shed, the horse starts talking again, telling her to get on it and rock. But, when she does (quite confused) it takes them to a very strange and different place. How will they get out? Will she and the horse (Sunrise) get out alive? Opinion: I like this book a lot because it is very adventurous and exciting. It always keeps you thinking and guessing what is going to happen next. Also, it is always changing and leading to things you never thought could or would happen. The plot just flows into chapters, making everything make sense in due time. You may be confused about something for a little bit, but when you find what you are looking for, it makes so much sense why the author kept it from you. It felt like the author was passionate about the story, and that came through in the writing. I loved this book so much I would read the a second book in a heart beat.

My review of a charming book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Delightful., September 14, 2015

This review is from: The Adventures of Geraldine Woolkins (Kindle Edition)
What a totally charming story, I loved it. Perfect for young and old alike...gentle yet exciting. It is so descriptive! So much so, I wanted to be in the Woolkins little house; curled up in front of their pine cone fire, enjoying mama Woolkins homemade soup.
This is a delightful story, filled with life lessons. Perfect to read to a little one at bedtime. I would love to read it to my grandson when he's older.
I can see this becoming a school favourite, a great story to read to a class of children. And a great book for any school library.
The cover is adorable, and expresses the story perfectly.
What can I say, I loved it!!

This review is from: Rat Run (Paperback)
This new book by Y I LEE is another number 1 for me, . I have read all this writers books and I must say I have never been disappointed. Each book has held me intrigued and I can't get to the end quick enough to see how the story unfolds. Rat Run is another such book that grips you with wonder and anticipation, It is classed as a book for young people, but as a pensioner it is a fascinating story that is appealing to all age groups and no parent would be concerned for any child enjoying this beautiful woodland story

4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting Short Story, August 19, 2015

This review is from: Roseblood: A Michael Quinn short story (Kindle Edition)
I generally don't read short stories, but this was recommended and I really enjoyed it.
Basically, the story revolves around two characters. A beautiful young concert pianist, and the young man assigned to protect her.
The story is well written, and fast paced; it held my attention from the start. In a way I wished it was a full novel...it was so good. Nevertheless, it worked and has given me the incentive to read more short stories.
If you like a quick read that is exciting, then I can certainly recommend Roseblood.
